The National Guard Association Illinois has also been able to increase money to supply the care of soldiers, airmen, and their families. This integral organization was able to champion the requirements of their National Guard experienced community and help uplift them into a higher quality of life.One of the ways that the National Guard Association Illinois has been able to assist National Guard veterans and their families is through the introduction of The Prairie Minutemen Scholarship. This scholarship is offered to the spouses and children of those that are members of the National Guard Association Illinois. If selected students will receive $2,500 in scholarship funding to the establishment of their choosing.

  • Army Engineer Memorial Awards

The Army Engineer Memorial awards are available to pupils by the Army Engineer Spouses Club. Officially founded in 1953, the Army Engineer Spouses Club was meeting unofficially since 1951. Born from a Christmas luncheon at Fort Belvoir where contributed items acted as gifts for wounded Korean War Victims at the nearby Walter Reed Army Hospital, The Army Engineer Spouses Club eventually incorporated itself as an actual organization. Since that time, the Army Engineer Spouses Club has grown appreciably. Currently known as the Army Engineer Spouses Club, at 2010, the organization continues to raise money for a variety of important causes pertinent to Army Engineers and their families.1 relevant cause is that the Army Engineer Memorial Awards Scholarship. Now, the Army Engineer Memorial Awards Scholarship is a living memorial to all veterans that have died in the line of duty. Among the biggest scholarships for grandchildren of wwii veterans offered to veterans and their families, the Army Engineer Memorial Awards Scholarship is awarded to pupils that are linked to somebody who works in the service as an Army Engineer.
